Park at a Glance

- Park is best known for its warm and loving community, a focus on the environment, rigorous and engaging curriculum and instruction, passionate and talented teachers, supportive parents and amazing children.
- Park School was first built in 1909. It was originally called Tamalpais Park School.
- Park School was built to accommodate the hundreds of families that relocated to Marin after the 1906 earthquake and fires.
- The original building was torn down in 1939 when the main building was built.
- Currently, we have 318 students, 17 classroom teachers and almost 50 staff members.
- Our teachers are involved in research-based professional development that can be described as collaborative, inquiry-based, goal-driven, focused on student outcomes, and meaningful and relevant to teachers.
- Student leadership is encouraged and supported through programs such as: Student Council, The Green Team (recycling), Peaceful Playground Coach, Student Service, and Cross-grade buddies.
- “Words to Live By” guide our everyday actions and keep our community strong.
- The PTA sponsors an array of invaluable programs and events such as the Fall Potluck and Carnival, the Variety Show, Oceans Celebrations, Annual Harvest Festival, Science Night and much more!
- KIDDO!, the Mill Valley School District’s Foundation, funds a top-notch Arts Program that includes: Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Poetry, Drama and Technology!
- Students use state of the art laptop computers for innovative classroom projects.
- Students get 30 minutes of physical education every day.
