PTA meeting October 15th, Lunch update, tile painting make-up day and safety reminder!

Want the latest info on what is happening at Park School?  Come find out at the “State of the School” general PTA meeting this Thursday, October 15th at 8:30am in the library.  Reports will be given on all the committees and activities happening at Park school, as well as a report from our principal Jim Derich.  Grab a cup of coffee and a treat at the PTA coffee cart then come listen, ask questions and find out what is going on at our school!

Lunch Program Update:  We are in a short term volunteer crisis and we need everyone’s help!!!!  All California schools are mandated to provide a student lunch program, and we are currently locked into Revolution Foods this year.  Our PTA provides this support to the district so that they do not have to make further budget cuts to administer the program.  Our PTA and the district are actively working on finding a solution to the lunch program issue and we are certain we will have some improvements soon.  However, in the short term WE NEED YOU!!!  Please consider supporting our school community and offer to serve lunch, even if you do not order lunch for your child. Our lunch administrator, Jane Todd, is single handedly doing the job that should be done by many and she would love to hear from you! Contact Jane Todd at mark_jane@hotmail.com to volunteer.

If you missed out on painting your tile(s) on Sunday:
Tile-Painting Make-up Day will be on Wednesday, October 21 from 1:45 pm - 3:45 pm in Room 12 ( Kim Kirley’s classroom).

Additional tiles are available.  To ensure we have enough supplies, orders must be in by October 19th.  For people that can not make it next week - Doodlebug in San Anselmo will be delighted to help them.

Finally, we recently heard of a car break-in less than a block from Park School. As a reminder, when parked at school or anywhere else, be sure to lock your car and store valuables out of sight!

Fundraising update and author visit

Playground Fundraising Update

We are almost half way there!!!! We currently have raised $23,000 and still need to raise $27,000 to reach our goal of $50,000 to replace the lower playground structure that was removed. To ensure we meet our goal we are extending our priority deadline to Monday, October 5th. If we make this goal, then we can order our new playground equipment in time to install it over the December holiday break and make our plan a reality! Flyers for donations and ordering handpainted tiles are available in the school office or by clicking here. Questions? Contact Jenifer Hartwell or Amy Curtis. Thank you for your support!

Fabulous author Jon Agee coming to Park School on November 6th!

Please pre-order your Jon Agee books by October 2nd so that they can be signed by the author. Order forms are available in the office or contact Barb Sobel

Calling Park School Alumni
